Cape Town police recovered abalone worth R2.5 million

A team of dedicated flying squad members recovered abalone
worth R2.5 million this morning.
Police Spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana said police
attached to the Maitland Flying Squad noticed a vehicle driving at an excessive
speed on Baden Powell Drive, Muizenberg.
“According to received information, the police
responded and followed the suspicious vehicle all the way to the N2 Gateway
Settlement in Delft, where they lost sight of the vehicle. later the vehicle was found abandoned, with 968 unshackled Abalone packed in seven bags..” Rwexana added.
No arrest has yet been made at this stage.
