The City of Cape Town says an oil slick from a vessel that sank ten years ago near the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station is not a threat.
Experts say the slick is disintegrating.
The area was hit by strong winds last night.
Disaster Risk Management spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says the nuclear station is keeping its booms lowered in case tide changes have a "counter-current effect" of the oil slick.
