South African aid organisation, Gift of The Givers, is preparing to send aid to disaster-stricken Haiti.
According to reports, spokesperson Imtiaz Sooliman, says the relief efforts will cost about R10 million.
About 100 tons of equipment and medical supplies will be delivered to the Caribbean nation where an earthquake measuring seven on the Richter scale struck near the capital, Port-au-Prince, this morning.
Thousands of people have died.
Sooliman says they have a search and rescue team, a medical team and tons of supplies ready.
