The body of an unknown man was found in B Block, Site C in Khayelitsha at the weekend.
Captain Anneke van der Vyfer says the man sustained head injuries, possibly caused by a blunt object that was found on the scene.
The deceased was dressed in a white t-shirt, white jersey with blue stripes, a cream and black coloured jacket and khaki trousers.
One of his shoes was missing from the scene. It is believed that the incident could have taken place Saturday evening or the early hours of Sunday morning.
Anyone with information on the incident or who might be able to identify the deceased is asked to contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Anton Barnard, Detective Services, Khayelitsha on 082 850 9791 or during office hours on 021-360 2399.
