Three people have died and five others were injured after when a car collided into a group of pedestrians on the side of the R304, in the direction of Stellenbosch, just before Kayamandi.
ER 24 spokesman Tristan Wadely says two patients were declared dead on arrival of emergency services.
“One patient was in a critical condition and five sustained moderate injuries. The critical patient later died in hospital,” said Wadely.
Wadely says the car was overtaking a truck when it lost control and collided into the pedestrians.
Meanwhile police were on the scene and are investigating the incident.
