State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele has assured Parliament that intelligence services have the Fifa World Cup under control.
He says Intelligence Agencies are conducting daily threat assessments at base camps and hotels where international teams will be staying.
Cwele says ongoing threats of xenophobia are also being monitored.
Meanwhile, Johannesburg mayor Amos Masondo has reminded spectators that no private vehicles will be allowed within the stadium precincts during the tournament.
Masondo today unveiled a comprehensive transport plan aimed at encouraging local and international soccer fans to use public transport.
He says only people with valid, official tickets for matches will be admitted to the areas around the stadiums. Masondo says Johannesburg is on track and ready to host the World Cup.
