A horrific bus accident has claimed the lives of at least 19 people between on the R-26 in Fouriesburg and Bethlehem in the Free State.
Netcare911 spokesman Jeff Wicks says a number of babies were among the scores that were seriously injured.
The cause of the crash is still not yet known.
Wicks says the bus appeared to have veered from the road and ploughed into a roadside furrow and shallow stream.
The injured were transported to various hospitals and clinics in the area.
