Hundreds of Hanover Park residents on the Cape Flats took to the streets yesterday to protest against what they claim is the lack of policing in the area.

The residents have been battling gang-related violence and drug lords for years.

Numerous of innocent victims, including very young children, have been killed after being caught in the cross fire as gangs fight it out to take control of the area.

Protesters said most residents were too scared to take part in the protest because they were worried they would be targeted by gangsters.
