Shark warnings continue in Cape Town

Increased shark activity in False Bay has forced the municipality to issue a warning to beach visitors to be cautious when entering the water.

A number of sharks were spotted close inshore off Muizenburg and St James over the weekend.

The City’s environmental head Gregg Oelofse says all the beaches along the Western Cape coast were open, but encourages members of the public to adhere to the shark warning system.

The warning comes after a British tourist, Michael Cohen, was attacked by a great white shark at Fish Hoek last week.
