ER24 paramedics this morning responded to an incident whereby a man in his 40’s climbed approximately 40 meters up a cliff in Molweni in Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said when they arrived they found that the man was stuck on the ledge but he was still able to communicate with paramedics.

The paramedics called on the assistant of the Molweni SAPS and they brought in a helicopter and managed to get the man down.

Jackson said the man was not injured during his climb but he was transported to Molweni clinic for further treatment and care.

Details surrounding why the man was climbing up the cliff are still unclear.
