ER24 paramedics said a 42-year-old woman has been extensively injured after she was knocked in Pietermariburg central.

The exact details of the cause of the accident remain the subject of a police investigation.

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said that it is understood that the women along with another big group of protestors, were standing in the road when a car approached them from around a corner.

“The vehicle is believed to have collided only into the one women and she suffered a badly broken leg,” added Jackson.

She also added that the advanced life support paramedic initiated treatment on her and she was transported per ambulance to Northdale hospital for further care.
