A man was hit by a train

A man died on Thursday night after being hit by a train between Broadway and Strand station in Somerset west Strand.

It is still unclear what exactly happened, but is appears the man believed to be in his twenties ran next to the train attempting to board it.

ER 24’s Andre Visser says paramedics arrived at the scene and were told by bystanders that the man got caught onto the under carriage of the train.

He added that the man sustained a number of fatal injuries and was later declared dead at the scene.
