The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) has spoken out against the personal attacks directed at General Secretary Zwelinzema Vavi.

Earlier this week the South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) responded to Vavi speaking out about the Limpop textbook crisis.

Regoinal secretary for NUMSA, Jerry Morulane said they share the concerns of Vavi about the crisis and that they are not surprised by the backlash that Vavi has been getting.

They also asked for an apology to be made by SADTU.
