There is new hope for TB patients, including those who are HIV-positive.
The TB Alliance announced the findings of its clinical trial conducted inCape Town at the
International Aids Conference in Washington DC .
The trial was headed by Professor Andreas Diacon of theUniversity of Stellenbosch .
TheAlliance says its new
combination of drugs kills 99-percent of TB bacteria within two weeks and cuts
the cost and time of treating the disease.
