Go-ahead for fracking in Karoo

Treasure the Karoo Action Group says it is not surprised by government’s decision today to give fracking in the Karoo the green light.

But, said that they are disappointed.

Group chairperson Jonathan Deal says the lifting of the moratorium on shale gas exploration by Mineral Resources Minister Susan Shabangu is a hasty and ill-informed decision.

What he calls a distinctly unpopular technology.
