The South African Institute of Race Relations says increasing service delivery protests are a result of improved service delivery in the country

Adding that it is because people now expect more.

The Institute’s deputy CEO Frans Cronjé says their research shows impressive service delivery improvements in terms of the number of people having access to water, electricity and housing.

Their data also shows a sharp increase in service delivery protests, which Cronjé says is not a contradiction.
