The African Christian Democratic Party said the results of the Annual National Assessment Test helps to identify what the learners can or can not do.

About 7,2 million learners in Grade 1-6 and Grade 9 in all public schools as well as Grade 3-6 in independent schools will be participating in numeracy and literacy tests across the country.

ACPD Spokesperson Keeno Petersen said the previous assessment tests and the experience gained gives great confidence that the process of administration will be managed successfully.

Petersen said the tests were developed by selected teams of expert teachers from all the provinces.

He added that the content of the tests was sampled from work that the learners are expected to have covered.
