Rights group Section 27 is taking the Department of Basic Education back to court over the Limpopo textbook crisis.

Section 27’s Nikki Stein says the department has failed to comply with court orders.

The court order compels the department to deliver textbooks in Limpopo and to implement a catch-up plan for affected pupils.

Stein says they don’t believe the catch-up plan is working adequately and are asking for it to be extended to the end of next year for grade tens.
