The African National Congress in the Western Cape said there is a housing challenge in the province.

This comes after allegations of corruption in the housing project in Boystown.

Residents are accusing Crossroads ward councillor Depoutch Elese of corruption and allocating houses to families that were not on the city or province’s housing waiting list.

ANC Youth League Chairperson Khaya Yozi said they remain that the allegations of corruption must be proven and it must be investigated whether there are indeed people that has manipulated the situation to suite their own interest.

Yozi said at this time a conclusion cannot be drawn at this stage and state that certain people are guilty of corruption, it will only  be welcomed when prove is given and it will then be prompted.

Yozi also adds that as the ANC they are strongly advising that if there are allegations it must be proven.
