Bawusa accuse media of not focusing on strike action, but attacking Pieterse

The Building and Allied Workers Union of South Africa said that a media programme on the 3 of January 2013 did not focus on the farmworkers strike; its aim was to damage Nosey Pieterse in the farmworkers’ eyes.

The programme allegedly accused Pieterse of promoting violence and asked workers to strike and later gave them food parcels.

Pieterse said “there were always media people present during the strikes, but no other media organisation said I had said such things”.

Pieterse said that no mention was made of such things, it was a personal attack on himself
