Sadtu’s protest outside Education Department quarters a “success”

The South African Democratic Teachers Union has described its picketing outsiders the headquarters of the department of basic education in Pretoria on Tuesday, as a success.

Media officer Nomusa Cembi said the picket calling for among other things, the dismissal of the Department’s director Bobby Soobryan attracted close to 1000 members.

Cembi said that Sadtu’s message of the dismissal of Soobrayan from his position for the lack of leadership.

“One of the things we are unhappy about is that in the four years he has been in the department, only two collectors’ agreements have been signed, and those agreements have not been implanted” Cembi said.

Cembi added that one of the agreements involves the payment of markers.
