The Democratic Alliance said it has noted the launching of Agang South Africa, under former activist and entrepreneur Mamphela Ramphela.

The DA said they believe in the dream of the rainbow nation, and feel there is a need to stand together to make it a reality.

DA Spokesperson Mmusi Maimane said, it is equally important to note that splitting the electoral vote should not be where opposition politics becomes ineffective.

“We hold the view that it is critical that when opposition parties can be able to deal, they have to be able to work together and be able to have the outcomes they need; we can then have a healthy democracy” Maimane said.

Mmaimane added that they are going ahead with their own campaign.
