The Democratic Alliance said it is suspicious that the Special Investigating Unit has delayed the release of their final report into President Jacob Zuma’s private homestead in Nkandla, KwaZulu Natal.

Chairperson of the DA’s Federal Executive James Selfe said South Africans deserve access to the full report so that they can interrogate its findings and its accuracy.

Selfe said the fact of the matter is that there are a number of unanswered questions around the R 246 million spent on the upgrade of the president’s residence and I will be writing to the head of the SIU to request that he provides reason why this report is being held back.

“If he does not provide those satisfactory reasons then we will launch a PIE application to obtain this report Selfe added.
