Minister of Education Naledi Pandor addressed yesterday the issue around the FET Bill.
Pandor was pleased to announce that leading companies in the construction industry have entered into a partnership with the Department of Education and FET colleges.
She said that next year five leading construction companies will assist in training artisans in FET colleges.
The aim of the partnership is to increase the numbers of skilled artisans who will become available for the construction sector.
Two colleges have been chosen as the flagship sites for offering the Building and Civil Construction programme.
The sites chosen are the Belhar campus of Northlink College in Cape Town and the Attridgeville campus of Tshwane South College.
