Drug mule busted at Cape Town International Airport

A 26 year old woman was arrested at Cape Town International Airport for possession of tik with an estimated street value of R1,6 million.

Inspector November Filander says the Cape Town crime prevention unit reacted swiftly on a tip off , that the woman, from Crossroads-KTC would arrive at the airport on a Johannesburg flight with a suitcase containing drugs.

“Police swooped on the woman at the arrival and searched her luggage and found 4,5kg Tik hidden in porridge boxes with an estimated street value of R 1,6 million,” said Inspector November Filander.

The woman will appear at the Bellville Magistrates’ Court tomorrow on charges of dealing in tik.
