Eleven people were killed and two others seriously injured in a head on collision between a truck and a minibus taxi on the N-One between Polokwane and Matoks in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood that the taxi was travelling towards Matoks when the collision occurred.
All the occupants of the taxi died instantly. Most of them were thrown from the wreck of the vehicle.
The truck driver and his passenger were rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
The cause of the accident is still unclear but it is believed a taxi and a truck collided at around 3am.
