Khayelitsha police are asking the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the arrest of one or moresuspects involved in a murder incident.
The deceased and his friend were walking down Lansdowne Road, between SM Block and RR Block, Site B in Khayelitsha, when they were approached by four suspects.
The group attempted to rob them, during which a scuffle ensued, leaving the two with serious knife wounds.
“Police and Ambulance Services were called out to the scene where both men received medical attention, but one of the men, the 38 year old Monde Malgas, died on the scene as a result of his wounds,” said Captain Anneke van der Vyver.
No items were taken during the incident.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or whom might be able to identify the deceased, is requested to contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Marius Sass or Constable Sakhiwo Mteyise, Detective Services, Khayelitsha on 079 880 9858 or during office hours on 021-360 2318.
