A vigilant Metro Police Officer recovered a stolen scooter and arrested a thief, even before the owner realised his scooter had been stolen.
According to Metro Police Deputy Chief Yolanda Faro, an officer who was on his way to work early this morning noticed a man pushing a Vuka Scooter in Milton Road, Goodwood, and decided to investigate.
The officer questioned the man and asked for proof of ownership, which the man could not provide.
“The officer contacted the control room to check on the eNatis system for ownership and an address. He then requested the South African Police Service to go to the owner’s address and they found that the owner, who resides in Parow Park, wasn’t even aware that his scooter had been stolen,” said Faro.
