A parachute accident has claimed the life of a National Defence Force member in Bloemfontein
The SANDF says the tragedy happened during routine training.
The trainee had landed safely after a jump, but a strong wind caused the parachute to drag him along over bumpy terrain for around 100 metres.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
