A 50 year-old man died in an accident in Benoni

ER24 paramedics said a 50-year-old man died after he lost control of the car he was traveling this afternoon in Benoni. 

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said when they arrived on the scene they found that the driver who was the single occupant was still sitting in the drivers seat of his wrecked car. 

Jackson said it is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree on the side of the road and the front of the car was badly damaged.

Jackson added that paramedics tried to revive him on the scene but he sadly died.

The exact cause of the accident is unknown at this stage and the police are investigating.
