Police searching for four suspects who bombed an ATM in Athlone

An ATM bombing happened in the early hours of this morning at a petrol station in Athlone. 

Captain FC van Wyk said it is alleged that four unidentified males approached the petrol station and one of the suspects held up five of the petrol attendants that were on duty while the others were busy at the ATM. 

The suspects also took the cellphones of the petrol attendants and broke it apart.  No one has been arrested yet. 

Van Wyk said it also alleged that the suspects took some money but that will be established once the financial institute has confirmed. There were no injuries and no shots were fired.

He further warned that customers that are using ATM`s in the early hours of the morning must be aware at all times. The suspects fled in a green Nissan.
