The National Sea Rescue Institute East London volunteer was alerted to a ship whereby a 45-year-old Indian crewman was suffering a high temperature and unconsciousness from unknown causes.

The reason behind the crewman’s death is unknown at this stage.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the ship was on deep sea at the time around East London and on arrival on scene the crewman was declared dead already.

Lambinon added that the man was brought back onto the sea and the police together with the Department of International Relations are dealing with the situation.
