The South African Communist Party in the Brain Bunting District said it supports the strike by the workers of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa within the motor industry.

Numsa on Thursday rejected a revised offer of a 7.5% wage increase for petrol attendants and car repair workers.

SACP Spokesperson in the Brain Bunting District Masonwabe Sokoyi said this unfortunate behaviour of employers who are exploiting foreign nationals whilst most of the employees in the fuel filling stations are on strike undermines the latter and spirit of our labour relations acts.

Sokoyi added that as the SACP they are appealing to workers and the poor to unite and refuse to be divided on the basis of nationality by the greedy capitalists.
