Two male suspects
aged 33 and 35-years old have been arrested in Woodstock for canopy
theft.
The arrest follows
a spate of canopy theft cases were reported in the Woodstock area.
Captain FC van Wyk
said SAPS members executed an observation operation in the area for anything
suspicious; they spotted a white LDV with two occupants, leaving Chamberlain Street with a canopy on the back of it that did not fit.
The two suspects
are expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate Court today for charges relating to possession of stolen property, theft from
motor vehicle and possession of car breaking implements.
Van Wyk added that
three complainants have came forward and the investigation continues to
establish if the suspects can not be linked to other cases of similar
incidents.
