A School Resource pilot project to be launched

The City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith, together with the MEC for Community Safety, Dan Plato and the MEC for Education, Donald Grant, on Thursday they will officially launch the School Resource Officers pilot project.

The City and the Western Cape Government said they are committed to working together to enhance school safety and create secure environments in which teaching and learning can take place without fear or disruption.

Education Department Spokesperson Bronagh Casey said this project will identify and address the underlying problems.

Casey said they intend to implement strategies to make schools safer.
