V&A Waterfront taxi operators under the spotlight

Lusanda Bill
12 September 2012

Meter taxi operating at the V&A Waterfront could be forced to stop operating there.

This follows a change to the operating permit conditions.

Western Cape Transport MEC Robin Carlisle said negotiations between V&A Waterfront management and the taxi drivers have been ongoing for months.

Carlisle added that some of the issues negotiated relate to the dress code of the drivers, to the maintenance of the vehicles and the establishment of the fees.

The meter taxi drivers have asked for the deadline to be moved until the end of September.
