Police prepare for a planned march

Police are preparing for a planned march at Lonmin’s Karee Mine near Marikana in North West today.

Some mineworkers say they are not interested in the peace talks at Marikana as their wage demands are not being discussed.

It is believed that the company wants a peace agreement before it will discuss salaries.

The Marikana operation said yesterday that around six-percent of its 28-thousand-strong workforce showed up for work, up slightly from Monday.
