Too many children injured on SA roads

A survey conducted by a medical Professor at The Red Cross Children’s Hospital showed that half the number of children being treated was injured in car accidents.

More than 700 were injured in car crashes while roughly 1 000 were pedestrians.

Many of these patients are said to be younger than eight years old.

Head of Paediatric Surgery at Red Cross Children’s Hospital, Professor Alistair Millar said that parents have a responsibility to make sure there children are strapped in when they’re driving in a vehicle.
