The Democratic alliance today said that
Police Minister, Nathi Mthethwa’s admittance that only 19 out of 49 aircraft of
the police service South African police service Air Wing are currently flying
is a major crisis.
DA MP of police Dianne Kholer Barnard says
that this is a crucial resource in tackling crime and the fact that the
aircraft are grounded, through what can only be a gross mismanagement.
Kholer Barnard said will be writing to the
police Minister to explain why these plains are not working.
She added that the Minister need to give a
clarity on what measures do they have in place to ensure that those plains are
operational again.
