The National Union of Mineworkers said it concurs with President Jacob Zuma that there is a need for normality in centralised bargaining process.

President Zuma in a media conference on Thursday called for a fair and speedy resolution to upcoming wage negotiations especially with the weak rand and poor economic growth.

Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe has been appointed to lead the talks in the mining sector.

NUM Spokesperson Lesiba Seshoka said that as NUM they believe that this is true as they need all the stability and normality, everybody in the sector.

Seshoka added that it is in order to safe guard jobs and they are appealing to all stakeholders, fellow unions and all signatories to appeal to the call.
