All systems go for the State of the Nation Address next week

Parliament today said it is all systems go for the State of the Nation Address which will be taking place next week Tuesday. 

An ongoing wage dispute between Parliament and the National Education Health and Allied Workers Union has threatned to disrupt the SONA but Parliaments presiding officers say they are not expecting any disruptions.

Disgruntled Parliament staff want three senior mangers to be fired for alleged abuse of power.

National Council of Provinces Chairperson Thandi Modise said the 5th Parlaiment will relook and emphaise public participation. 

Modise said Parliament has also put measures in place for weather disruptions as well.
