Gauteng and Cape
Town will have two centers in light of the high
volume of applications.
Minister of Home Affairs Malusi
Gigaba said they are on course to implementing the new Immigration Regulations
of 2014.
Minister Gigaba said the new
immigration regulations are in line with the objectives of the department of
managing immigration efficiently and effectively.
He added that this will facilitate
socio-economic development as well as to protect the integrity of our
boarders.
Malusi Gigaba said we are insisting
on simple basic things that foreign nationals have to abide by and these are
the same systems that South Africans have to abide by in other countries.
Gigaba added that in pursuing this
strategic goal the department has modernized the immigration services and VFS
global has been appointed to manage this process.
Meanwhile the Department of Home
Affairs together with VFS will be establishing Visa Facilitation Centers in all
nine provinces.
Minister Gigaba said the decision to
appoint a private service provider for visa facilitation services is to
strengthen South Africa ’s
immigration policy, to meet the country’s goal of transforming the economy
creating sustainable jobs.
Gigaba said it is critical to know
the decision to allow a disallow a Vise lie solely with the Department of Home
Affairs not VFS.
