An agreement to boost trade and investment was signed between the Western Cape government and the American state of Georgia.

The province and the state of Georgia will be working together to unlock trade investment between the two regions.

MEC of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde said government’s responsibility is to create the environment for economic growth, by facilitating a process that makes it easier to do business in the province.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said the Western Cape government hopes that this agreement will strengthen the trade and investment relationship between our province and the state of Georgia.

“There is a major focus on growth sectors such as the call centre industry, tourism, agriculture, we know that these are the biggest employers in the Western Cape. We see this as an increasing investment into the Western Cape more economic growth for our province which ultimately means more jobs.” Jooste added.
