South African travellers will be able to buy air tickets at food and clothing stores.
This is a revolutionary market move from the newly launched low-cost carrier, Mango.
Mango will officially announce its plans to allow consumers to pay for air tickets at retail store next month.
The Cape Argus report that this is an effort to target the people who have not used air travel and to make travel more accessible, said the chief executive Nico Bezuidenhout.
Edcon group which owns retail stores like Edgars and Jet stores has signed a contract with Mango and the companies are testing a purchase system.
The report says that Mango and Edcon are hoping to launch the project early next year.
Customers will be able to use their credit cards to purchase air tickets.
