A shootout between police and five robbers left the criminals dead.
The five were being chased by police for stealing a bed from a house in Inanda in Durban when the shootout ensued.
Police’s Superintendent Jay Naicker says they received a report that the men were attacking the house at around 22:30 last night.
The men fled in a white Ford Bantam and were confronted by police at a local mall.
A shoot-out occurred and all five suspects were killed.
None of the policemen were injured.
