Netcare 911 paramedics attended to a tragic accident scene late last night in Johannesburg whereby a toddler died.

It is believed that two vehicles collided into each other at the corner of Bram Fischer and Robbin Hood.

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said it appears that one vehicle slammed into the side of another and tragically a 3-year-old was left with fatal injuries, and the child’s father was left with critical injuries.

Jackson added that paramedics desperately tried to revive but there was nothing more that they can do to save the child’s life and he was declared dead on scene.  The father was rapidly transported to hospital and he remains in a critical condition. The occupants in the other vehicle were not injured.

Local police attended the scene and will be investigating the exact cause of this collision.
