Paramedics were called to Milnerton for assistance where a man was stuck on the beach, buried in the beach sand.

When they arrived on scene a 29 year old man was stuck in a small hole under the public ablution facility off Marine drive in Bloubergstrand.

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said all they could see sticking out from under the building was the man's feet but when they spoke to the man he responded and was fully conscious.

Jackson added that Paramedics immediately started digging away at the cold wet beach sand and spades were also brought to the scene.

“Finally they managed to get the man out of the hole and he was treated for hypothermic symptoms and transported in a stable condition to New Somerset Hospital where he was handed over to hospital staff in a stable condition.” Jackson said.
