Continuous Mitchells plain gang shooting

 A 33-year-old man has become another victim of drive by shooting, this comes after the attempted murder of a 17-year-old boy and 4-year-old child.

The man was shot in the stomach, according to Police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana the incident took place Monday morning at about 9.30am at Moses Kotler, Lentegeur. The victim has been reported to be in hospital for treating as of date, no arrests have yet to be made.

Lentegeur Community Policing Forum chairperson Byron de Villiers said the area had been experiencing daily shootings between a gang from New Woodlands and Heinz Park. He said although they are disturbed by the lives being lost, gangsters or civilians- the police are unfortunately experiencing shortages in staff and vehicles.

He further stated the provincial SAPS despite being aware of the situation have no done anything to combat the gangesterism and crime taking place.
