Up to 500 foundation phase pupils at four schools in the Western Cape have not received workbooks since the beginning of the year.
This is according to the ANC in the province who went deliver some of the books to the schools in Bloekombos and Wallacedene in Cape Town today.
ANC Western Cape leader Marius Fransman says the provincial education department was not willing to help when they approached them.
Fransman says they were alerted about the lack of work books via Facebook yesterday afternoon.
