On Monday ANC supporters gathered outside the Western Cape Legislature demanding that Premier Helen Zille address them on the possible closure of 27 schools in the province.

The ANC’s Marius Fransman said MEC of Education in the Province Donald Grant is hiding and running away.

Fransman said they want to say to Grant that you can’t stop running away and he has to face the parents, the teachers as well as the communities.

He added that they went to picket because Grant refuses to address communities in Paarl, in Bishop Lavis and in the Southern Cape.
